GLAUCOMA
Glaucoma, often referred to as “the silent thief of sight,” is caused by increased pressure inside the eye, which damages the optic nerve. In its early stages, glaucoma typically presents no noticeable signs or symptoms. If left untreated, it can lead to a gradual loss of peripheral vision and, eventually, blindness. While there is no cure, medications and surgical options are available to help stop further vision loss and manage the condition.
During your comprehensive eye exam, we use advanced technology to evaluate and monitor your eyes for glaucoma. Our Optos camera provides high-resolution, wide-field images that allow us to track changes in your eye health over time. Additionally, our Optical Coherence Tomography captures detailed cross-sectional images of your eyes. Early detection and regular exams are crucial in slowing the progression of glaucoma. For more information, please schedule an appointment with one of our doctors, and we will be happy to assist you.
